Building Cooperation and Relationships

How do we work together and with others outside the team?

The fourth element of an effective team launch depends heavily on the other three. Cooperation and relationships emerge when team members know what is expected of them and follow guidelines they have mutually agreed on and that help them work together. It’s difficult for team members to get along or work well together when there are misunderstandings and disagreements about the team’s purpose and direction, roles and responsibilities, or procedures and practices. With a common purpose and direction, clarity about roles and responsibilities, and agreement about processes and practices, the chances for cooperative collaboration are high.
