Teamwork at All Levels

As can be seen in the mining example, effective teamwork knows no level. It is just as important among top executives as it is among middle managers, first-line supervisors, or front-line employees. The absence of teamwork at any level (or between levels) will limit organizational effectiveness and can eventually kill an organization.

If you are waiting for someone in higher management to tell you to build a team, you may be limiting the success of your unit and yourself. Thinking, proactive managers do not wait for a directive from above. Instead, they begin immediately to develop solid management skills. If teamwork is lacking, good managers can identify where the problems are and initiate corrective action to change things until the desired results are achieved.
