Chapter 18. Engaging the Strengths of Each Style

People often ask which is the right style. There is no right style. We all have different strengths that we bring to the work environment. The key is to use each individual’s strengths and keep from assigning or delegating a task that would not be a fit for that person.

If the team was nearing completion and you wanted to plan a celebration, the promoter would an ideal person to come up with ideas for ways to celebrate. You would not want to put directives in charge. They would think it was a waste of time, and they would already be thinking of the next project for the team to work on. It would also be a good idea to add a supportive to the celebration team to make sure the promoter followed through on the details for the celebration. Using individuals’ strengths makes it easier for everyone to accomplish their goals.
