Part II: Building a Strong Foundation > Taking the Time to Plan

Chapter 8. Taking the Time to Plan

Teams need to know why they exist, what they are supposed to accomplish, and who else is involved. If these areas are fuzzy, frustration results. Team members expect their leader to know the direction they are to take and how they are to coordinate with other groups to reach their goals. To accomplish this requires effective planning.

Planning is the thinking that precedes the work. If planning is not done, time and effort is usually wasted. If you fail to plan for the correct materials and people to build your foundation, you risk having a faulty foundation. Take the time to plan.
