Open Communication

Most employees respond positively when you share with them the vision and goals of the team and the organization. People like to be kept “in the loop.” Water-cooler or break-room gossip can slow productivity and undermine the work environment if people are spending their time speculating on changes in the organization.

Employees are more motivated to a quality performance if they feel they are part of the communication circle. A supervisor must be sensitive to recognizing these employee needs and must design ways to meet them while achieving the organization’s goals.
