Chapter 18. Feedback

Feedback means one teammate’s reaction to another’s actions or statements. Healthy teams learn to communicate their reactions quickly and constructively. They negotiate until everyone is happy, and then hold each other accountable for the agreements made.

Teams still in the forming stage typically do not give much feedback, especially when things go wrong. Let’s say, for example, you agree on ground rules, plans, or action items. Something unexpected gets in the way and you aren’t able to follow through as promised. Because you’re still forming, little is brought up in public. But you can bet some members are grousing to each other in private.
