Case Study: The Software Newsletter Team’s Road Map

In preparation for an early team meeting, Fran, the team leader, and Terry, the team sponsor, kicked around several proposals for the Software Newsletter Team’s road map. Fran proposed the Problem Solving road map to change negative customer attitudes. Terry suggested the New Product or Process road map to clean house and start over. They rejected both because there was already a process in place that just needed improvement. They discussed the Natural Work Group road map, but Terry pointed out that the team may not continue producing the newsletter after its initial revamping. After deliberation, they agreed to propose the Process Reengineering road map to the team since it was applicable to improving the newsletter production process in order to focus on customer satisfaction.
