You already know that to track progress you need to:

Follow the right road map for your kind of work

Develop a master plan with a few milestones for each road map step

Document your master plan on paper or in project software

Post your master plan on a flip chart at each meeting for a visible reminder

Break each milestone down into small measurable steps with an action plan

Review your master and action plan status at the end of each meeting

Update your planning documents or software immediately following each meeting
