ONLINE COMMUNICATION SYMBOLS AND ACRONYMS

Just as online etiquette has developed to help people communicate politely with email, certain written communication symbols (emoticons) and acronyms have evolved to save the writer time and convey writing tone and emotion. You may find that over time your virtual team will create its own symbols and acronyms. Using and creating them can be very fun in what could otherwise be a stale writing environment.
