Presenting the Plan

Team presentations are a great opportunity to accelerate growth or kill empowerment. Part of the team deal includes doing everything possible to see that they succeed. Here are some presentation ground rules based on the principle that the team sponsor who has to say no to the team has screwed up:

  • Don’t drop in uninvited

  • Follow the team’s meeting ground rules

  • Give positive reinforcement whenever and wherever possible

  • Search for things to agree with

  • Give advice when the team needs and wants coaching

  • Be flexible in adjusting plans and renegotiating the team’s charter
