How to Empower and Enable

Empowerment isn’t absolute. Teamwork means sharing power. Your job is to define what the team will be responsible for, what their authority will be and what management’s role will be. The cost of empowerment is clearly communicating goals, requirements and boundaries from the start.

Empowering a team is challenging, and doing RTD is more so. Employees are conditioned to receiving direction. How can you direct them to be productive without outside direction? How can you enable them to accomplish things that others haven’t?
