Part III: Communication Dynamics > What Makes Team Meetings Work?

Chapter 10. What Makes Team Meetings Work?

Let’s apply the guidelines from the previous page to team meetings. Think back to several recent group problem-solving or decision-making situations you were involved in. What made the meetings work and what got in the way?

To answer this question, use the following Force-Field Analysis Worksheet: Positive/Negative Forces For Meetings. You will find this format several times later in this book. Two columns are headed by opposing brainstorming questions, in this case dealing with meetings. The question on the left asks for positive forces and the question on the right asks for negative forces. By playing a plus against a minus, a team’s thinking loosens up and differences stand out more clearly.
