Step Five: Plan and Implement Corrective Action

The identification of potential solutions in step four leads the team to step five: planning and implementing a corrective action plan. Of course, the recommendation would need to be made to the Quality Steering Committee (QSC) and approved since it exceeds the team’s budget. If the recommendation were within the team’s budgetary authority, it could be implemented on its own. The presentation to the QSC should be well developed and all the team members should be encouraged to attend. Upon approval, the team would recommend a timetable to assist in implementation and suggest a priority of installation. Any training needed would be articulated also, and necessary documentation captured before moving to step six.
