Part V: Communication > Enhancing communication

Chapter 16. Enhancing communication

Explanation

Many virtual teams develop a communication design process that outlines a timetable for communication among members and designates the type of technology that’ll be used for communicating. For example, teams might develop a communication design process that sets dates for important meetings throughout the team’s life and establishes protocol for sending information to members at other times. Since virtual teams confront many obstacles not present in traditional teams, communication among virtual team members cannot occur sporadically or without planning. Instead, virtual team members must plan to communicate and must be prepared when the communication begins.
