Conflict management

Throughout the course of their work, project teams can experience conflict. Conflict might arise between one or two individuals or it might divide the entire team. Conflict can actually be a healthy characteristic of a project team, since it encourages the team to explore options in greater depth than they might without conflict. However, conflict can be a negative characteristic of a team when members become stubborn and fail to reach a compromise or agreement.

When conflict arises in a project team, use the following seven guidelines as you seek a resolution:
