Communication with your team

Managers sometimes assume that as long as information is being transmitted, communication is not a concern. However, quality communication involves much more than transferring a piece of information from point A to point B. There are three guidelines to improve communication within your team:

Listening skills

Many people overlook listening as a characteristic of communication, but listening is a critical element of effective communication. Listening is not a passive activity but should be done actively. Active listening is the conscious act of collecting information from a speaker and effectively interpreting it.
