1: In the following scene, Amy (employee) is busy working at her desk when Matt (employee) walks up. Matt is carrying a folder in his hand.

Matt: (Somewhat impatiently) Can I talk to you for a second? I need to talk to you about the analysis you prepared. (Refers to the folder in his hand)

Amy: (Looking frazzled and very busy) Actually, I’m really busy right now and nothing seems to be going right today. Can this wait until tomorrow?

Matt: (Shaking his head, impatiently) No, I really need to talk to you now.

Amy: (Slightly shrugging her shoulders) All right, if there’s no way it can wait, but I have a lot on my mind so let’s try to do this quickly. I don’t want to fall even further behind.

Do you think that Matt has chosen the right time to speak to Amy?

How would you have responded when Amy said she was busy?

Discuss the guidelines of constructive criticism.

2: Brian and Felicia are working in the same team. They have been working very well together, but recently Brian has started getting irritated with Felicia due to missed deadlines, which has left the entire project lagging behind schedule.

You need to give the feedback concerning schedules to Felicia. You have all the facts with you. Felicia is very agitated because she needs to present an urgent report to her manager.

Do you think it’s important to give Felicia feedback immediately? Why or why not?
