In the following scene, Amy (employee), Jennifer (employee), Brian (employee), Matt (employee), and Jeff (manager) are gathered around a table in a conference room. The meeting is already in progress.
Jeff: Now that we have our goals for the upcoming quarter all planned out, does anyone have any more questions?
Amy: Actually, I have a question. Is there going to be a leader for this team? Or do we each do our own thing?
Jeff: As a matter of fact, this is going to be a self-directed team, which basically means there won’t be an appointed leader and you’ll all be in charge. Everyone will share responsibilities and be held accountable for how well the team performs.
Do you think the team will function effectively? Why?
