Consensus

Consensus refers to the decision-making method in which every member supports the decision. Ideally, every member of the team fully supports the decision, but sometimes it’s difficult for teams to reach full agreement. In these situations, consensus might be a partial level of agreement from every member. Teams that are able to reach consensus or some level of agreement find that their members are committed to the decisions they have made and are able to implement the decisions with fewer problems.

Consensus should provide team members the opportunity to completely express their views. This high level of participation gives members a sense of ownership, which motivates them to create the best decisions possible and follow through with implementation.
