Who's Gonna Do the Work? 83 Team Terms A control point is a spot in a project at which you stop, examine the work that has been completed, and, if errors have been made, correct them. Give Team Members the Tools and Authority Nobody can carry out an assigned project without the proper tools or the authority to get the job done. Providing equipment, materials, and access to resources is an obvious step, but giving the associate authority is another story. If a job is to be done without your micromanagement, you must give the people doing the job the power to make decisions. If they need supplies or materials, allot them a budget so that they can order what they need without having to ask for your approval for every purchase. If a job may call for overtime, give them the authority to order it. Be Available
