Glossary of Team Terms MO 361 Method, or mode, of operation--the method or patterns of behavior that a person habitually follows in performing work. mentors Team members assigned to act as counselor, trainer, and "big brother" or "big sister" to another member. micromanaging Supervising every phase of an assignment. That means the leader looks over the team mem- ber's shoulder to check that every i is dotted and every t crossed. This stifles creativity and prevents team members from working at their full potential. mission statement More than just an indicator of the company's objectives. It is their credo, their reason for exis- tence, the philosophy upon which they conduct their business. motivators Factors that stimulate people to perform beyond expectations.
