Doug’s Story: Stress and All Those Turkeys

I never said I had a stress problem. I said I had a turkey problem,” Doug announced. “Turkeys in traffic,” he grumbled. “Turkeys in management. Too many turkeys. Everyone taking a piece out of me. I just want the people around me to stop acting like a big bunch of inconsiderate turkeys.”

In bits and pieces Doug revealed his story. A sales representative for an electronics company, he was struggling with professional burnout, complicated by a 20-year marriage gone stale and the pressures of raising two teenage boys. Anger and futility had trapped him in a vise grip of stressful resentment day after day.
