6.. Practice Makes Perfect

Open Listening

Simply practice listening; that is, apply yourself to hearing what you are being told—try to be “all ears.” One way to check yourself to see whether you’re really hearing what you’re being told is to observe, as you are listening, where your mind is going and what you are thinking about.

Try to eliminate some of the “noise” going on simultaneously in your mind by concentrating more on the other person, and then see what happens to the quality of your conversation.
