Worker Values: New Management Norms Required

In the not-too-distant past, individuals worked autonomously. We rarely knew what the next person up the ladder did in our company—much less what people did in other companies. Information on how we do our jobs has now become more accessible. We’re not as secretive as we once were. There is less physical space and less job differentiation between us and the people below and above us.

As a result, employees are developing different job expectations. This represents a radical change in worker values.
