1: Read the following scenarios and identify whether you can use affinity diagrams to solve the problem:

You’re the captain of a professional football team. In a game, your team has scored one goal, whereas the opposite team two. You’re in the second half of the game when you get a penalty shot. You need to decide who’ll do the penalty kick.

You’re in the decision making team to decide whether or not to implement a company policy. Implementation requires a lot of thought and care, because it can create both positive and negative outcomes. Your team contains smart and able people who’ve already proved their ability in decision making.

You’re playing jackpot. You first decide to support the horse numbered 5. After the third lap in the 10-lap game, one of your friends compels you to change the horse number, telling you that the horse isn’t performing well nowadays. Per the rule, you must make a change before the fourth lap starts.

2: Icon International has collaborated with an Indian company to increase the production of laser printers. Icon made this decision, hoping that the demand for laser printers would increase in the coming years, because these printers give clearer and more accurate printouts than other printers do.

You’re on the decision making team of Icon. Your team needs to check whether the decision should be implemented or not, considering the positive and negative impacts of the decision.
