Analyzing the decision frames of others

When you understand the frames of reference of others, you can communicate more effectively with them. This is especially important for people you work with on a regular basis.

While it is difficult to understand the frames of others, you can take several actions to analyze how they frame decisions. One action is to think about the issues that they seem to talk about most or the ones that seem to matter most to them. Understanding what they focus on helps you see the frame of reference they are using.
