Strategic Decision Making

Unit 1

In this unit, you learned about the decision making process. You also learned about defining decisions. Then, you learned about assessing the issue at hand and establishing objectives. You also learned about decision frames, the purpose of decision frames, and the problems created by them. Then, you learned to assess whether a frame is appropriate. Next, you learned how to change decision frames, analyze and influence the decision frames of others. Then, you learned about researching decisions. You also learned about the guidelines to improve your decision making abilities and to avoid the problems of overconfidence. Finally, you learned how to deal with uncertainty.

Unit 2

In this unit, you learned about generating options for a decision. You also learned about improving your options. Then, you learned about selecting an option. You also learned how to evaluate your options. You learned that, when you describe the consequences of your options, your descriptions should be accurate, complete, and precise. You also learned that the final choice can be based on guidelines, such as considering the magnitude of the decision, thinking about the complexity of the decision, and contemplating how others will view your decision. Finally, you learned that the techniques used to make the final decision are intuition, rules, and the weighted-decision model.
