Element 19. Success Ethic > Where to Find This Answer

Where to Find This Answer

What have you done in the past that would indicate that you are capable of achieving a significant win? Can you work in a situation filled with enigma and ambiguity? Are you a self-guided missile? Are you capable of identifying and running through false stop signs? Can you withstand a staggering hit as if nothing had happened? Can you add a new fifth quarter to the game? Can you maneuver your resources down the field outside the “out of bounds” marker? What in your record or the record of your teammates suggests that you have this “right stuff?”

Dr. Market’s Observation:

Having a success ethic does not mean that you must have an unblemished record. Some professional investors are troubled when there are no missteps, no failures. They wonder, will this be your first? The key is being familiar with the taste of winning, not having a record that has no failures (such a record might flunk the investor’s snicker test).
