Practical Experience—This Deserves the Minimum Weight of 1

As the late Alvin George Flanagan of Combined Communications Corporation and later Gannett Broadcasting Group told us, “don’t ever get caught without a backup plan.” You simply never know when a surprise will turn your company upside down. Frankly, I have witnessed surprises on the positive side as well, so I do not believe that the backup plan needs to be a doomsday scenario. The point is that you should plan on both types of backup scenario, certainly on the negative when things go bad, and also on the positive if things go wildly beyond your expectations.[1]
