Where to Find This Answer

How do you know whether you can attract cash? Find a willing and qualified listener and ask for the order. If they cannot justify a large purchase, ask for a small one or a charter customer discount. If you cannot deliver immediately, ask for an advance. If the buyer could become an enormous customer, attach a warrant for stock. If they can place an enormous order as the number two customer, attach two warrants (an attempt to ward off the one-trick-pony syndrome where you could wake up someday with no business and a new owner, the only customer who stepped up when you launched your business). To be sure, this is the first moment of the venture’s existence and the odds may be high that you will not begin the conversations with a check in hand from a panting customer. Can you forecast the early movement of cash? Better yet, can you reach out and make a quick sale or two? Now?
