Summary

In this chapter we dealt with the harsh reality of saving for retirement. The underlying point of this chapter is that every day you wait to save for your retirement makes it more difficult for you to achieve your goals. And it won't get better if you do nothing. If failing to save for retirement were an illness, it would be bacterial, not viral. A viral infection will go away over time; a bacterial infection will get worse and worse. The medicine you need to take is called action, and you'll need a large dose of it now as well as a steady course of treatment until you retire and start living off what you have saved … but that's a segue to the next chapter.
