Life Expectancy and Your Retirement

With all of the medical and health advances over the past several decades, life expectancy has increased dramatically. What that means for many of us is that we will be living up to a third of our lives after we retire. Perhaps even more dramatic is the realization that for every year you work, you will have to earn enough to support one half of a year of retirement.

Be Careful

Life expectancy is a key ingredient in planning for retirement. If you underestimate your life expectancy, you could run out of money when you can least afford to.
