Investing Abroad

Living in an international world, we would be wise to look outside the boundaries of the United States for additional investment opportunities. One way of gaining international exposure is to buy the stock of U.S. companies that generate a significant amount of their revenue offshore. Companies like Coca-Cola, McDonald's, and Eastman Kodak are heavily reliant on international sales.

Recently, there has been an explosion in the technology world as foreign companies and countries are buying U.S. technology to modernize. In 2003, China entered into a software arrangement with Sun Microsystems to provide 200,000 copies of a Linux/Java software program and in the same year, Advanced Micro Systems announced its agreement to build a semiconductor manufacturing fabrication facility in Germany.
