Summary

We have covered the nuts and bolts of the equity market and what it takes to be a stock picker. This is no easy task if you want to really make educated stock purchases. As you will learn in Chapter 11, a much less risky path is to purchase mutual funds or buy stock indexes. I also have acknowledged that some people like to pick stocks and watch the market as a hobby. I don't want to discourage those efforts, but I believe that you need to set reasonable limits on the amount of your savings dollars you risk with individual stock purchases. Don't let ego get in the way of achieving your long-term goals.
