Using Modifiers

JavaScript supports a number of modifiers you can use with regular expressions. These modifiers are single characters, such as the g modifier, that you place at the end of a regular expression, like this: /\bHello\b/g. Here are the modifiers supported so far in JavaScript:

  • i Ignore alphabetic case

  • g Globally perform all possible operations

  • m Let ^ and $ match embedded \n characters to handle multiline text (m means “multiline”)
