Q&A

Q1: If I use the expandable site map on a page, won't the page's other content move up and down as the items are expanded or collapsed?
A1: Yes, if the menu and page are in a single window. You can avoid this by placing the menu in a frame or layer, or in a table column.
Q2:In Netscape 6, when I click on an item within the expandable site map or drop-down menu, nothing happens. What's wrong?
A2: You are most likely testing the document in a local file rather than on a Web server. When you click on a link to a file that doesn't exist, some versions of Netscape display an error message and others do nothing. In a real site, since the links would point to actual documents, this wouldn't be a problem.
Q3:When the scrolling text box is viewed in Netscape, why does a scroll bar appear on the right side of the page during the scrolling?
A3: This happens when the hidden text layer is longer than the current browser window would hold—even though the bottom part of it is invisible. This problem doesn't occur in Internet Explorer.
