Namespaces in XML

One fact the original XML 1.0 Recommendation overlooked was mixing multiple XML languages in the same document. This may not seem like much of a problem at first, until you realize two XML languages may have the same name for two different elements.

For instance, SVG (a language I cover later in this chapter) includes a <font>...</font> element, which differs significantly from the XHTML <font>...</font> element (especially because the XHTML version is deprecated, and the SVG version is not).
