Description

The <hr /> element defines a horizontal rule in the document—a horizontal line running the full width of the window or parent element. It informally defines sections of the document.

Prior to HTML 4, this element had attributes to define its style—the width of the rule, the type of lines to draw, the alignment, and so on. Once again, styling has deprecated all but the element itself.
