Creating Pop-Up Menus in Fireworks

Pop-up menus are a great way to streamline your users' interactions, allowing them to quickly jump to the pages they need. In Chapter 13, you saw how to do one kind of a pop-up menu. There are other techniques for doing pop-up menus; unfortunately, they're complex enough so that they are beyond the scope of this book.

Instead, you might consider letting Macromedia Fireworks 4 do the work of coding the pop-up menus in JavaScript for you. Fireworks is Macromedia's Web graphics creation program, and it integrates well with Dreamweaver. You can create graphics in Fireworks, bring them into Dreamweaver, and then back into Fireworks for touchups. The example I've given is for a fictional music e-commerce site called MusicBlender.
