You've landed the job programming the Web site for Shelley Biotechnologies. At the moment, its site is okay, but very static, and your new boss has brought you on board to bring it up to speed with the competition. Before you begin to soup up the site, however, the boss wants you to look at an issue that has been raised by some people who have been browsing the site. The site is currently using Cascading Style Sheets with Dynamic HTML (CSS/DHTML) to specify what the font size should be for the text on the homepage. Users who are viewing the site with Netscape Communicator 4.x on the Macintosh are seeing the fonts at a different size than those using Internet Explorer or those using a Windows-based computer (see Figure 1-1). While this may seem like an insignificant problem, the boss is nothing if not a stickler for details, so this looks like the perfect opportunity to start putting JavaScript to work.
