Dan Barrett

I would like to thank the Academy…Oh wait, wrong speech. But seriously, I would like to thank my wife Kristin for her support and understanding over the course of my writing this book.

Thanks to my family—my parents Chuck and Judy and my brother Rick—all of whom put up with me having my nose in a book for most of my childhood. I would also like to thank Dan Livingston and Micah Brown for thinking of me when this project came along and Brad Scott for giving this beast its tech review.

Finally, this book could not have been written without the caffeine-laden wonder that is Mountain Dew.

Dan Livingston

We had the good luck to work with Mark Taub and Karen McLean from Prentice Hall on this project. We especially tested Karen's cattle-herding skills, and she remained remarkably patient and focused throughout the process.

I would like to thank my fianc´ee, Tanya Muller, for her continuing patience and encouragement. I wouldn't have been able to write this book while starting my own business without her by my side. Her support was, and continues to be, invaluable.

I'd also like to thank W. Bradley Scott of Clear Ink for coming up with the idea of using an online fashion magazine as a fictional company. He also acted as technical reviewer, and was generally very helpful.

Finally, I'd like to thank my design mentor, Brad Eigen of MadBoy Productions. He's the Daddy.

Micah Brown

I would like to give special thanks to my wife, Dawn, who has helped me in too many ways to mention. You are my love, my life, and most importantly, my best friend. I dedicate this book to her and our daughter, Ashley Nova, who has yet to be born into this world—we can't wait to meet you!

Also a special thanks to my parents, William and Donna, and my extended parents, Beppe and Joy, for everything they have done for me these last 29 years. I wouldn't be the person I am today if it weren't for them. I will always be grateful for how much you all have taught me through the years and helped me to grow as a person.

Thanks to Mark Taub and Karen McLean for helping Dan and me get this book series out of our brains and onto paper. You are right, this is a little tougher than we had first imagined! Also, thanks to Carl Gorman, my partner in crime at Etail Enterprises (www.etail.com), and my band members, Kelly and Carl from Nitrus, for putting up with me through all of this.

Finally, thanks to my co-authors Dan Barrett and Dan Livingston, as well as all the others who worked on the books in this series. If it weren't for you, I wouldn't be writing this.
