USING MOUSE EVENTS

Mouse events control the execution of scripts when the mouse interacts with a button or movie clip instance. You use them to emulate things you might do with your hands.

NOTE

If you’re familiar with Flash 5’s implementation of mouse events, you know that you can only use them with buttons. In Flash MX, however, you can attach mouse events to movie clip instances as well (which we’ll discuss in detail later in the exercise).
