Chapter 19. Attaching Movies

DO OR DIE

  • This method grabs a movie clip from your Library and attaches it to a clip that's already on your stage.

  • The two movie clips take on a parent-child relationship.

When you attach one movie clip to another, it's like attaching a third arm to the top of your head (though hopefully more useful). If you move, the arm moves with you. If you dive into the pool, the arm gets wet. Whatever you do automatically happens to the arm. The arm can do things on its own, though: It can wave without your whole body waving, or splash in a pool without your whole body getting wet.
