Compose Your Content with Care

Keep in mind that your e-mail message will be competing for your recipient’s time with many, many other activities. So it is best to limit your networking message to a maximum of one screen page. If you need more room, add an attachment. Focus on your first three sentences. By the end of sentence three, the reader should have no doubt what your message is about, or what action should be taken. Use the balance of your e-mail to drive home the point you made so succinctly and effectively in the first three sentences.

Be sure to proofread your e-mail message before sending to ensure it contains nothing offensive. Appropriate e-mail content:
