If you already have established relationships with key influencers who can help you achieve your career goals, congratulations. If not, this section will help you identify people you already know whose help you may not have thought to tap. And you will learn ways to help you reach beyond your comfort zone and make new contacts.

Remember to include your spouse, family, neighbors, and friends in your networking circle. Think about what they do for a living, what hobbies they enjoy, what career paths they have followed, and so on. Use your next family gathering to find out where your cousins work, with whom your father-in-law plays golf, what challenges your self-employed aunt has overcome to build a successful business.
