Chapter 20. Rev Up Referrals > See How They Run

See How They Run

It's 7 A.M. Members are gulping coffee and gobbling bagels. By 7:15, they're getting down to business. First, they take turns delivering "thirty-second commercials" designed to remind everyone of the basics of their individual enterprises. Next, three members present ten-minute briefings on their products or services. A travel agent drapes a lei around the shoulders of her business suit and tells about her new Hawaiian package tour. A handyman describes how he saved the day for a homeowner who frantically called him from work after a neighbor noticed an ominous stream of water gushing forth under the garage door. A stockbroker talks about his favorite high-tech stocks.

After the briefings, members—who have already been to the bank with the income from business referred to them by other members or business from other members—jump up to say thanks. People also give thanks for resources, business advice, and valuable contacts. By 8:15, members are heading for their offices or businesses.
