It's easy to recognize other people's sins, the things that turn you off. The question is: Are you guilty of any of them? If so, how can you change your ways so that you are a more attractive conversation partner?

  1. Don't tell all the details. The classic definition of a bore is someone who, when you ask him how he is, tells you. The person who insists on telling everything will soon lose her audience. We've all had the experience of being infuriated with people who wonder out loud, "Let's see, was that in October or November?" Don't include everything; sketch in the broad outlines.
