We say beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but we should say that beauty is in the mind of the beholder. What you see as beautiful is not beautiful unless you admire it in your mind. Everyone does not see the same thing as beautiful. This is because believing is seeing. Our beliefs are our spectacles; they show us our reality. Everyone does not see the same reality. The motto of the Scientific School of Police in Paris is: “The eye sees in things what it looks for, and it looks for what is already in the mind.”
