About the Authors

For most of his career, H.B. Gelatt has been passionate about writing and speaking on the topic of decision making. After earning his doctorate in counseling psychology at Stanford, H.B. developed a nationally recognized model of rational decision making. But by 1990 he shifted his focus to creative decision making using positive uncertainty. The turning point for this change came when Crisp Learning published the first edition of this book in 1991.

H.B. continues to speak and write about positive uncertainty for people in transition, career development professionals, coaches, counselors, and educators. For information about positive uncertainty workshops and speeches or to share your comments about the book, please contact H.B. by phone at (650) 967-8345, by e-mail at Hb@gelattpartners.com, or check out H.B. and Carol’s Web site at www.gelattpartners.com.

Throughout her career, Carol Gelatt has dedicated herself to helping individuals and organizations change, grow, and succeed. As an organizational consultant and executive coach, she continues that mission. Before establishing her own business in 2001, Carol developed a track record of success in senior management, consulting, coaching, and career development. She was an executive in two Internet startups, a senior manager and consultant for one of the world’s largest career and change management consulting firms, and the founding director of a career development center.

For information about how positive uncertainty is applied in organizations and with individuals and groups, please contact Carol by phone at (650) 960-1922, by e-mail at carol@gelattpartners.com, or check out Carol and H.B.’s Web site at www.gelattpartners.com.
