Clutter Area 2:. Too Many Commitments or Involvements

Some people, in their desire to “do good” or “look good,” make more commitments than they can keep or take on more tasks than they can do well. As a result, their time and energy is consumed by others–other people, other organizations, other schedules and deadlines, other priorities and agendas.

Super Fred

Fred is so busy being a supervisor, a Sunday School teacher, a Little League coach, and a volunteer fireman he has forgotten how to have a good time. He’s usually grouchy and impatient and is always running flat out. If he could settle for doing a solid, first-rate job in just two or three of these four areas, Fred would not only receive greater recognition, but it would also simplify his life. This would improve his attitude. It would be easier to be around Fred, even for Fred. Especially for Fred!
